Our history

The hotel's construcion began in 1967, by will of the spouses Maria Mercato and Gregorio Forgia.

Inaugurated in 1970, the hotel was also used as headquarters of the provincial association of hoteliers, and was, with the former Jolly hotel, the reference point of tourism in Piazza Armerina.

The point where the hotel is built, the nord entrance of Piazza Armerina, is strategic respect the flow of tourists in transit to the roman villa of Casale. Since its opening, the hotel Selene was established as one of the most important accommodations of the province of Enna, both for the level of finishes and quality of service.

After 24 years of continuous activity, the owners decided to suspend the service to operate a profound renewal, in order to bring the structure up to date, and to meet the new needs of customers and tour operators.

The hotel was reopened in 2004, with a different management, and now it returns back to be managed by the ownership, the Forgia family, through the company "Selene gestioni".
